Sunday Stuff

Some stuff on a Sunday ...

Clips of the week:

- Colbert on Bush
- Mike Breen on IMUS.

- Playoff run!!! Leafs had a heartbreaking loss on Friday in Buffalo. It was U-G-L-Y. They had a 4-1 lead and blew it in the worst way - I was running out of things to throw at the TV. On Saturday they redeemed themselves beating the same Sabres 4-1. One year ago, the Leafs had a similar home-and-home vs. Montreal and lost both to get booted out of the playoff race. I know this was in all Leaf fans' minds prior to last nights game.. With the win against Buffalo, they are still in it but there are a lot of teams vying for the final 8th spot in the Eastern Conference... Let's have a look:

RK GP W L OT PTS

6 TAMPA BAY-----76 41 31 4 86 -- 6 games left
7 NY RANGERS----75 38 28 9 85 -- 7 games left
8 CAROLINA------75 38 29 8 84 -- 7 games left
==============================================
9 MONTREAL------76 39 31 6 84 -- 6 games left
10 NY ISLANDERS-74 36 27 11 83 -- 8 games left
11 TORONTO------75 36 29 10 82 -- 7 games left

The remaining 7 games that the Leafs have are:

Tue Mar 27 - vs Carolina (currently in 8th)
Thu Mar 29 - At Atlanta (currently in 3rd)
Sat Mar 31 - vs Pittsburgh (currently in 5th)
Sun Apr 1 -- At NY Rangers (currently in 7th)
Tue Apr 3 -- vs Philadelphia (currently in 15th)
Thu Apr 5 -- At NY Islanders (currently in 10th)
Sat Apr 7 -- vs Montreal (currently in 9th)

4 of the 7 games are against the same teams battling for the 8th spot - so their fate in their own hands... I got a feeling it'll come down to the final game vs. Montreal... it should be a fun 2 weeks...

Go Leafs!!!!

- Looking at moving down to Hamilton in the fall. There are plenty of reasons not to do this, of course - the commute is 75 kms (to Waterloo). Sooo....how much is gas again? And how old is my car again? nGrrr... Life sux sometimes. The primary reason of why I am looking at this - is that I miss living downtown... Waterloo, Kitchener or Guelph really do not have a downtown... Hell, I'm even comtemplating commuting from West Toronto...!

Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Yeah, the Colbert bit was brilliant .. he and Jon Stewart both have had some fantastic segments recently. The bit on The Daily Show with John Oliver where they try to figure out what constitutes a 'reasonable offer' was classic as well.
