Ahhh... there's nothing like Spain in the spring time....So I've been told...
Er, by me.
uhm....
Sigh.
Out of all the out-of-earth topics, I think it is the area of past lives or reincarnation where I would like to understand more in the years to come...
Whatever your belief system, it is a very captivating topic. Hell, it might be true. It might even go a long way to answer the age old question - why are we here?
Reincarnation. There are so many ways to take a look at this - from a religious perspective and it's implications, from a scientific standpoint and unexplainable evidence derived through many cases, from just anecdotal evidence where people have shared their stories, many of which were drawn out through hypnosis or a medium uncovering vivid details and worlds of the past, and from a personal standpoint - aren't you curious about your own past lives? Well, my own curiosity took me a psychic/medium a few months ago. Apparently, one of my past lives had me living in Spain where I raised 8 or 9 children - pretty much alone. It seems that my beautiful wife had died giving birth to our last child, and so I had the burden of raising a family with little or no help. Is it true? Could this have happened? Or am I being conned? I have no idea. I certainly have no memory or sense of it, but it is very intriguing and my curiosity has been peaked. I intend to go again one day to another medium and see if Spain comes up again ... Deep down, I have reservations, but I will try... If it does come up, without me prompting it - I will freak out.
You know, this does/could connect to something I've often wondered about - namely, why some people are drawn to certain geographical regions having never been there before? In many cases, it's unexplainable (e.g. their parents had never talked about it, etc...). Yet, they are drawn to that place/country/culture. I've spoken to a few such individuals, when I was in Taiwan. A few of these expats had the need to come to Taiwan, that they have some sort of connection, but could not explain why. Personally, I did not have this connection while in Taipei and so I found this phenomena fascinating. Does this have anything to do with past lives? Did they make a strong connection in a some previous life to Taiwan or the culture? I have no idea, seems quite farfetched in reality.... But, what if? On another front, have you ever wondered why certain individuals have this "god-given gift" or talent for say, music or painting? How many times have you looked at an individual and uttered the words - 'a born-leader'. Perhaps this person has had some previous leadership experiences, and has come into this life with it ...?
This brings does up an interesting theory I have heard: that our soul/spirit travels from life to life picking up experiences, skills, etc... that stay with you in this and future lives. That our soul's life is made up of many lives, including this particular one we're living now. For example, if one has had much experience with losing loved ones in the past, they have developed very strong empathy/compassion skills that help them strong in similar situations in this life. Might even lead to a calling in the priesthood? Interesting eh?
So what in your life do you think you might have/could have been carried over, from a past life? Have you ever dreamt of something so specific that you just can't explain? Like a specific person or a house or even an era? I find these kinds of questions amazing, and want to investigate more ....
So why have I brought up this farfetched topic today? Was it because of something in one of my own past lives? Hardly.... It's an article I read from this life, hell it's from this week....
It's stories like that of James Leininger that bring excitement and energy to this topic, and begs many questions, starting with.... what if?
Enjoy.... The Past Life Memories of James Leininger

I dunno
A couple years ago, when my life was in a bit of turmoil, I went to a psychic, and while she seemed to guess some personal details correctly, her predictions for me were almost all wrong. So, I'm always somewhat skeptical about what a psychic has to say.
That being said .. I don't believe in reincarnation. I believe that everyone's soul is unique and is thiers, and theirs alone. I also believe, though, that the soul will live on after our physical death, and that it is possible, at times to connect with the spirits of people who are no longer living.
But .. such is the nature of belief. You can't prove it one way or another ..

Hey Chris,
There's a very interesting book by Sylvia Browne called "Life on the Other Side:: A Psychic's Tour of the Afterlife"
It describes the world on the other side with tremendous accuracy and includes topics like spirit guides, what happens when you die and, of course, reincarnation.
Whereever your belief system is, it is a very interesting read...
"It describes the world on the other side with tremendous accuracy ..."
Don't you mean "describes ... in tremendous detail"? How does anyone "on this side" know whether or not the description is accurate? Have others been there, come back, and produced similar accounts? Until someone produces concrete proof or evidence that reincarnation isn't some con job, I remain skeptical.
Yes of course... 'IN tremendous detail". Thank you.
As for you being skeptical - I have no problem with that. I'm just discussing something that I find extremely interesting... as it, for me, links to the larger question: Why are we here? What is all this about?
Some interesting links and articles on Sylvia
Browne ...

Sigh. It looks like I need to repeat this one more time...
I'm not trying to 'sell' reincarnation or psychic phenomena to anyone... This is not what this entry is all about. I mean it's so easy to poke holes in all this, why bother? It's like trying to defend one's faith to an atheist. It's a no win. Everyone has their own belief system, and I have mine. I really don't give two hoots if someone agrees with me or not. That's not the point.
All I am saying, is reincarnation is a fascinating topic, and there are many, like young James Leininger, who seem to have interesting experieces and stories with it, and that a noted psychic by the name of Sylvia Browne paints an interesting picture of the other side, in one of her books, which includes the concept of reincarnation.
All this is just food for thought. And nothing else.
